A Little Peek at my Frankenstein Super Unimatic

Here is a little video peak at my Frankenstein Super Unimatic washer that I’m slowly but surely building. It can really stuff this machine as its washing six huge bathsheet towels with the heater going. No low sudsing detergent needed here! Click on the link below to watch. I’ll do more complete videos and descriptions when I start to work on this machine again in a few months. The next two components I want to add is a sensor so the computer can tell if the Unimatic mechanism motor is in the start winding or not, and a sensor to measure incoming the rinse water level to tell the computer when the tub is full. The rinse water level sensor is going to be the same one that is used in the Whirlpool Duet washers.

The video is almost 30mb and its two minutes, 10 seconds long. I seem to be having a problem with the new videos that I’ve made through the lastest version Premier, when I click on the link it only plays 60% of the video, claiming the video is only 1:16 minutes long, when I right click and select Save Target As and download the video and launch it from my desktop, it plays the full version of 2:10 minutes. Is this happening to you guys and gals as well?

I just can't get over how the machines were designed to throw water right into the cabinet. That's amazing. And how cool to be able to see how the water acts during an overflow rinse and subsequent spin. The circle fill is great---it was the only thing I liked about my mid-80's WCI Frigi.

The recirculation is awesome----you are really moving water, there. The obvious analogy is that you've created the Monster Truck of washing machines, Robert!

I didn't time the vid to see if I'm getting the whole thing. The vid stops mid-spin on my computer.

Totally fascinating. Yes, the video stops before the end unless downloaded to a local disk. I've seen other streaming videos behave this way. Only if you save the video to disk will it play out to the end. Maybe it's a mediaplayer problem?

The first time I played it, it stopped at the end of the view of the front of the machine. When I let it complete downloading, it played completely. Looks more like a media player problem than anything else. The vid starts playing before it has completely downloaded and "catches up" to the video too quick. If you know what I mean.
I always thought that all TL machines had an inner tub and and outer tub. This machine just uses the cabinet to hold the water? Just amazing. That spin action was what I have been dying to see for years! I always wondered what it looked like from the inside. Thanks for providing this awesome video.

That spin is beyond description, but the towels want a pusamatic which has no equal. You can do it. Frankenstein a pulsamatic into the unimatic. I'll pay. In a few years I'll be loaded when my TSA matures. My money's going into the best charity in the world: washing machine research and development.

My viewing stopped twice, but I just clicked on the > and it played out fine.

OMG!!That is amazing!!

I would never leave the laundry room if I had that at home.that is truely inovative. would you ever consider having a dryer to match? I have never seen one of those dryers with a clear front.
