A little teaser...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Austin

Very nice work. Many apartment complexes around here in the mid 1970's had total GE electric kitchens. When the w/d combo finally broke down the tenant had to purchase there own T/L machine. I never did get to see one of them in use. At the time, the theme was Gold shag carpet with harvest gold appliances or Green Shag with avocado appliances. Guess with all the splashing going on it washes well? I wonder how much water it uses for the wash/rinse portions? Less than a modern F/L? Thanks for posting your pictures. alr2903

Great job getting that old beast going again Austin! Love the photos! Hope the street lamps don't dim too much when you start it up! lol!!

See VIDEO?

Hello....how are you doing?

How about see the video of the GE Washer, Spin, rinse, final spin and then dryer (?)?

Still Delay

Hi again, I'm still delay about the 1961 GE Combination Washer-Dryer....when will I watch the video?

- Peter (kenmorepeter5ab) ;-) (my best friend)

Oops, sorry guys. Robert, yes I finally have 240V down in the Studio so I can be on the lookout for electric dryers! Arthur, with the tremendous splashing it does clean quite well, and so far, only Fresh Start won't oversuds it. I might try Fab in very moderate doses. As for the water usage, I'm willing to bet as much as a commercial double-loader FL. The drum is large and fills up right below the door opening.

When will I watch the video?

As soon as I can get it filmed and uploaded to YouTube ;-)

All kidding aside, right know I'm in the middle of some other cosmetic projects which will probably take more than 1 weekend, so the video is on the back burner for now. But trust me, it WILL be filmed, at the very latest before the year is out!

Washin?

Those are the splashiest front loaders I've seen. I spent alot of time at Greg's house watching the GE combo (when I was playing with the Lady K).

Almost ready the video ??

Will you ready to take the video camera about 1961 GE Combo Washer-Dryer by weekend??

- Peter (kenmorepeter5ab) ;-)

Patience

Just wait a little longer for the video kenmorepeter5ab. You would be surprised at how busy high school students can get at this time of the year. Trust me, I am a high school student. I'm sure the video will be well worth the wait.

Jon, my thoughts exactly...since this is my senior year it is especially tough! Also one of the reasons I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I have 2 English papers (750 and 1000 words) due before October 24th, not to mention other assignments, but the week after that everything will be done, so I'll make an attempt at a video. The video WILL be done though; everyone should see the incredible action this machine has!
