The little shop in Amsterdam
Hi, since I'll visit Amsterdam next week I'd love to also pay a visit to the Miele shop pictured above. Can anyone of the members of this site living in that town give me the address?

Wow! That Miele hanging off the building reminds me of an old dealership called Annapolis Bendix that had one of the old round machines mounted on angle iron brackets on the front of their building, but not over the door. It had most of the heavy guts removed, but it was still heavy.
So the dealer sells the toy Mieles also? In the dishwasher, what is the strange looking thing where the top rack would be? Whatever is in top looks like it would prevent the lower rack from sliding into the cavity.
The two machines sitting out in front of the store certainly do nothing to inspire confidence in either Miele or the dealer.

Those machines look like they should be out the back door waiting for the scrap man to come get them.

Had to laugh at that one, earlier this spring my partner found about 1/2 dozen of them at the Habitat Restore for $1 a piece, thrilled he got such a bargain. Stuck two right outside the front entrance to the house much to my dismay and I finally had to go and buy a decent little bistro set to replace them with. Then they seemed to multiply in the backyard, on the patio, out in the garden under the pergola..Finally enough was enough and I said they're going and I'm going to buy a decent patio set. He hates to spend money so he set to building some adirondack chairs. Now this is a guy who has never built much. Anyways, long story short.. the chairs he built and a matching table turned out much better than I expected. I was shocked and I think he was as well.

Window sill spikes: these are not uncommon in Amsterdam. Actually I didn't notice that they were there before they were commented on.

Toy Mieles: no, I don't think they are for sale. The vintage Miele washer isn't for sale either. These items belong to the collection of the shop owner. There is also a toy vacuum cleaner. This evening, weather permitting, I will try to make a close-up picture of the toy dishwasher.
Machines outside shop: I think they were just old machines destined for scrapping. Probably from customers who bought a new machine. It is the general practice that the old machine is taken away by the same people that bring the new one.

Window sill spikes
Those spikes are pretty intense. I'm sure they deter people from loitering. My guess is that they may be there to keep pigeons and other birds away. Smaller spikes are in use all over San Francisco. They keep pigeons and the resulting droppings off of billboards and buildings. Love Amsterdam. That shop looks very intriguing. Would love to see more.
