A modern Wish List item found! Well... Half of it, anyway...

Thanks to QSD_DAN who found this on C/L, actually in my own backyard as it were! I've always wanted a Maytag MAH7500AWW Touch Screen washer and dryer set but have never found any, other than for $1,000+. Well, I finally have the washer, anyway. Now the hunt switches to the dryer. This will actually bump my MAH4000AWW washer into the standby line. Huge capacity, water heating, 1000 rpm spin, and a control that has everything from fully customizable cycles to a stain library which will tell how to pretreat just about any stain then automatically set the washer to handle it. WooHoo!

Of course, I tore it apart and went thru it. The cabinette and main top were rough with dents, scratches and chips. I took care of that with a donor cabinette and top from a 5500. The control board had a intermittent flaw in it which was no problem since I had a good, used one waiting for this day. Updated the boot with the one with anti-microbial properties and decided to R&R the main bearings and seal which gave me the chance to try the Tony Tool. I cannot say enough about the Tony Tool and how stupidly simple it made the bearing job! I know, I know.. A lot to do for this washer. Well, it was a labor of love since this will be my daily driver for quite a few years to come (and I had all the parts I needed hidden away for this day...)

The console. I love this touch screen control. The on board diagnostics for this machine are just awesome. It sets trouble codes for easier diagnosis and the test routines are great including the ability to watch a screen that tells me what components are doing what and also what the washer is seeing as far as out of balance, motor rpm and torque, etc...

I actually had fun with this feature since a friend has one like mine. I would always screw around with the languages when I visited.

MAYTAG TOUCH SCREEN WASHER

Congratulations on your new washer I must admit I have a lot more respect for the MT Neptune's now than I did when they first came out. I think we were all so disappointed about the lack of a window that I didn't appreciate the easy serviceability that was designed into this machine.I would much prefer to run a service call on a MT neptune than any other modern FL washer. I have saved a Neptune touch screen top load washer and a new Maytag gas drying center for my ultimate laundry room I am building. I will also save a MT Neptune stack washer-dryer for the museum I already have a MT LSG1000 electronic stack in the museum.

Congrats, Drew! A beautiful machine, and the touch-screen is cool. I've only used Neptunes in the laundry room at the Oak Grove Towers apt. building in Minneapolis (Hi, Cheryl!), and they certainly clean well. The windowless door would be my only grouse.

When I first saw this set I thought it was a beautiful design. Then I noticed no window. How do you tell if you put in too much soap? How do you tell if your rinse is truly suds free?

Congratulations! I am very glad for you in your find. It's even more fun isn't it when we have parts all pre-stached for the eventual re-do into the dream machine we've been waiting for!

Congrats on the washer man, i look at the Neptunes for the sounds it makes pretty soothing when washing you can use your imagination with the sounds of clothes going around the sound of the Neptunes are distinct like no other so it will be a shrine in years to come good for you Drew.
I saw your thread yesterday and when i was working at Gerhards appliance i got my neighbor the same washer it was a return in tip top shape and my boss sold it for 600 dollers and i called my neighbor and he agreed and ran to get it so i took a couple of pics.
That was in 2006.

Pic 2 Neptune spinning at 800 got there in time for the rev up to 1000 rpm's
it only holds that speed for a minute it seems, see the yellowing on the control panel & dispenser top already.
That was fun to hear it go into high spin you can tell it has a solid Maytag feel.
