since a lawnboy has a through-the-deck muffler it would make a big wet stinky mess. Probably less so for a Toro or something with a 4 cycle engine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the late 70s oldsmobile.
Before buying my Robotic Lawnmower I had a 2002 key start LB and before that a Silver Series 1995 LB self-propelled. They were great mowers and I have to admit cleaning leaves with the bagger attached was fun.
Seeing the initial picture here, from 1968? They have used like the same deck all this time. And who could mistake that green.
