A "new" KA dishwasher addition

I believe this may be a KDS-18 but I can't be sure because I can't find a model/serial number tag on it (thought I have not checked every inch). It does not have the "rapid-advance" timer... in fact I don't hear any "timer noises" at all. It seems to have an electronic timer control (I think).

It's clean and looks to be in pretty good condition.

Can anyone tell me what model (and year) it might be?

Yup, it's an 18.

i have a 19 superba

and mine does not have that control panel at all. mine says "energy saver IV" on the left side. the 20's were "energy saver V" so if yours does not say that i'm guessing an 18.

curious to know if anyone can identify it for sure

I'd say KDS18 for sure.

It's a KDS-18 for sure. First year they engineered them with an upper-rack spray arm. This was introduced in 1977 and I know this because I was working that year at the Elgot appliance store on Madison avenue and 71st street when they came out. We bought a Patrician (KDP-18, new model) that year. One step down from the Superba, but same buttons

The Best cleaning machine KitchenAid ever built. I have 3 of them. If you parts , let me know . But that is a beauty. You sure know how to find them Kevin. Wow. She's just fantastic. Eddie

Even with the "Short Wash Arm"

She'll clean the rust off a trailer hitch. All the cycles are great.And pretty quick too. Water heating is good and Sani does a 1/2 fill and pumps it up to 180. (At the Final Rinse). Use that machine as a Daily Driver and you will never be disappointed at the results. Soak and Scrub is Fantastic on this Model. Enjoy that great find. Eddie. Ps You can jam that machine full of everything and it's the only machine that I know to date on Soak and Scrub that will clean everything in just a little over an hour. (And Dry Too)

What's the source of your luck???

Kevin, you have best luck in finding appliances. Do you have a room full the horseshoes and 4 leaf clovers? The wood front is gorgeous.
