Found this brochure on eBay and bought it just because I've never heard of Barton washing machines. A little research states they were out of West Bend, WI. There is no info on the manufacturer on the literature.

These were built by Franklin Appliances [ a division of the Studebaker car company ] These are probably around 1960.
The washer is a loose copy of a solid-tub GE without the filter-Flow feature and the dryer is a loose copy of a 1950s WP dryer.
These were sold under at least 5 different brand names including, Wizard, Bradford, CO-OP, Montgomery Wards, and Barton, Does anyone know any other names these were sold under ?
The machines were not great performers and did not set any durability records either.

This vintage Tide ad has the same machine, said to be an AMC brand.
Glenn, thanks for finding this ad. I knew I'd seen this washer before on a video commercial.

Seems like Coronado was another of the Franklin brands. I also think that the early WCI Gibson and Kelvinator machines were based on these.

Coronado was a Gambles brand.
An aunt in Minnesota had a Wizard like this machine, a neighbor of my grandparents had an early 50's Wizard. I think these were the only solid tub Franklins I saw growing up. I suppose it was a miracle that they were still around in the 70's, let alone the handful that have been found by members.

the last machines shown having boxes of Tide placed in them appear to be Frigidaire with a fake control panel. They probably needed a machine whose lid opened back for that shot because the AMC machine's lid opened to the left blocking the box of Tide.

It's not unusual that washer control panels and other clues to the brand are obscured in commercials if the machine isn't what's being touted. AMC and features of that machine are touted in the ad so the others would be disguised accordingly.
I believe that was also the dryer which Easy offered.
