I Think....

This hails from the 1966-1968 time frame. I remember those styling details (knobs, etc.) on a 30-inch freestanding range my aunt Priscilla had at the time.

It could well have been Modern Maid made - I remember distinctly that Pris was very unhappy with it.

Hans,

Just a side note, at a local estate sale this past weekend here in town I saw a mid 1950's 40" Monarch electric range with a deep well cooker. The pot was in the side storage compartment, and it had the concealed oven element. The enamel was dark blue speckled with white. The entire range was spotless. It was however in an upstairs apartment. The owner was a 96y/o single woman who's parents had built the house in 1912. She had also lived there her entire life until passing away this winter.

P.S. Do you know if Monarch deep well elements could be raised to be used as a regular one? I couldn't check this one out.

Some could..

But some had a so called Deep Heat cooker, which was like a roaster and had the heating coild wrapped around the well instead of being on the bottom...I didnt know they ever had concealed oven units??!

Yes,

There was a metal plate covering the oven element with vents spaced around the edge of it. There was a Monarch for sale here that I posted awhile back that had the roaster-type feature. Haven't seen it advertised for some time so maybe it was sold. I sure hope so.

Norge Hi-Low Electric Range NOT

You guys are correct, this ranges is all MM, and you are correct Hans it wasn't much.

Question whats worse than a MM gas range, A MM electric range, LOL.

A customer of ours in Chevy Chase Md. had a MM Hi-Low electric range that was installed in their kitchen in 1970 as part of a major remodel with a lower SC oven. What a pile of junk, the only good thing in that kitchen was the KDI-16 DW.
