A real Southern recipe

Well...........

we've made it half way through this great cake. Just wanted to comment on what a bountiful recipe this is. The cake baked nearly to the rim of the 9 X 13 pan and as stated earlier; moist, dense and good blend of flavors.

Thinking about doing a Bundt version the next time with a lemon glaze.

The cake is baking as I type. I'm going to friends tomorrow for dinner and bringing it for dessert.

Did you have to bake longer than 40 min.? The centre still looks pretty jiggly and the toothpick did not come out clean after 40 min.
