has anyone in maytagland seen a a806 suds saver with the permanent press cycle

this picture is a regular washer but I`m told there is a SS model like this

The fun part is where would be the SS buttons and the setting on the dial

Had a A806S for years. Excellent machine. ^Return Suds was located after PP and before Prewash/Soak on the dial. Drain Suds/Save Suds buttons were to the left of the 4 speed buttons...all in one switch bank.
During the '06 model years the A806 was available with a Suds Saver. Once the '08's came out the A806 was no longer available with a Suds Saver. They kept the A806 model number through the '08 series. There never was an A80"8" washer. There was an A808 dryer.

Not to nit pick but actually the suds buttons are to the right of the cycle buttons all in one switch.

thank u fixerman

I thought i was crazy as even the maytag man had not seen these and he has been in business 30 years

I wonder if this advances to prewash
My plain 806s advances to prewash from suds return.

I have pictures but they are crappy

Green with envy

Guys, I covet your 'tags.

I have to be satisfied with a newer one.

Don't you wish the Maytag family could get back in the laundry business as a closely held family corporation, and manufacture the "08" series again?

Iused to have a secretary whose mom was a home ec teacher. She told me her mom said that most laundry could be washed in 6 or 8 minutes and htat if the loaded needed longer, then soak for a while too.

Steve, teh Maytag PP cycle had a cooldown similar to Kenmore, but it spun rather than neutral drain. It drained until the water level reacfhed low enough it "reset" itself. Then filled with cold water. Then a pause and then spin. My mom's 1995 DC did a short agitation after the cooldown fill and then spun out rinse water. Now mind you, this all takes place in the space taht would comprise the spin/spray rinse/spin of the normal cycle. And then it went into the deep rinse.

Pete, nice Maytags! Are you using the upstairs set as your regular-use pair?

Bob, my 2003 DC takes a different approach. It spin-drains, and during that portion of the cycle, starts to "constant-spray" rinse while it finishes draining the water and ramps up to the full 618. Then it brakes and begins filling for the rinse. Reminiscent of a 1-18, IMHO.

Austin, taht sequence was set up to save on water. My mom's GE did the same thing as yours. My next model up GE did the partial spin drain and fill and agitate (for 7 minutes, almost as long as the wash and then it had a rinse)
