I had never seen this model before, we replaced it this past Thursday the main bearing is very bad. It’s so loose that it’s torn up the front of the balance ring and the tub cover.

We may consider fixing the machine, but we’ll have to do a transplant of the whole tub and assembly from another Neptune

This washer used the same cabinet design as the Neptune top load washer, they had a matching dryer, of course. This was one of the many foolish things Maytag did toward the end to actually make a whole separate front panel assembly door and top panel assembly to say nothing of another control panel for a machine That’s otherwise identical to a Neptune front load washer, a very costly thing to do.

I had never noticed the anti-mold designation on a Maytag built front load washer before, unfortunately it didn’t work. The door is still pretty moldy.

We replaced it with a new Maytag front load washer, the machine was in a rental house at Georgetown University area with a houseful of young ladies who normally give it a pretty good workout.
