A612 shot - Any thoughts on GTWN4250DWS

My 18 year old Maytag seems to have given up to ghost. The machine pumps out and spins, but doesn't agitate. The smaller belt was broken. I replaced it with a spare and the unit still does not agitate. I have oil spray around the perimeter of the cabinet. I have a friend who is an authorized repair station and he says that it isn't worth putting the money into it.

He suggested a Whirlpool WTW5600SQ which comes up as no longer available. The appliance store that I went to was pushing a GE GTWN4250DWS. Unfortunately, a machine like the Maytag A612 is no longer made.

Any thoughts on the Whirlpool or GE? Right now, I'm the king of the laundromat.

Front Loader Kenmore 41272

Does anyone have experience with this machine? Is it a newer version of the top rated 40272?

Speed Queen

If you have to buy a new machine check out Speed Queen. In my opinion the only new top loader worth having.
