Coppertone. Seller says the washer leaked once recently, from the right side. They got new wood flooring, so she's leery of it. Her usual repairman gave an estimate, but instead of fixing it first, she decided to drop the asking price by $50. $150 for the pair. She isn't "showing" them until Saturday and unfortunately several people are already in line for a look. Sge said they've always been kept indoors, so are in excellent condition.

Wish me luck.

I called the seller, offered the original price she had in mind if she'd give me first-choice at them, and if the machines are in as good condition as she says. No answer, left a message. No response yet.

If indeed they are A906's, offer more than the original asking price to get her attention.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the small leak, it's probably easily found and repaired, many parts are still available.

The 906 all pushbutton machines are the most rare and just imagine what they look like in coppertone!!

A906s are what Granny Clampet had...

I recently watched one of the first color episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies and they frequently did the shots in the kitchen where you could clearly see what were A906 models in the laundry room portion of the set. Coppertone too, IIRC...

She called back, said I can come take a look tomorrow evening. She's still using them, has a new MAYTAG pair ordered but it doesn't arrive until next week.

YAY!!!! Weeee doggies. Ellie Mae, start the washer and set it for a hot warsh. Jethro's been out by the cement pond again rollin in the mud (woof).

Washer

It's a done deal, barring any natural disasters. I don't take possession until next week, after her replacement set arrives.

Sorry, no pics of the interiors. The washer interior is in great shape, even the filter and dispenser cup are immaculate. Is there supposed to be a tub light? If so, it's burned out.

Note -- pics are at the seller's house.

Dryer

Drum light works.

The literature on the left is for the machines, or the washer anyway. She showed me that she has the stuff but I didn't look through it.

NOTICE the literature package to the right. If that's the material for her NEW MAYTAG set, it appears to be a FRONTLOADER.

Wallpaper!

F&P wallpaper with Maytags! I changed the setting to "Maytag 70s" today at the work computer, but apparently cookies don't transport between work and home, LOL.

Glenn I am really happy for you that you got these beauties. Will you be putting these in your garage? They sure look like they are in great shape. Terry

Congratulations on a fine TOL set Glenn! The Maytag coppertone was the best looking coppertone of all the manufactures in my opinion. They look to be very well cared for. Good luck with those!

CONGRATULATIONS GLENN!!! These are such incredible machines and I'm glad you rescued them!! I'll try to call later on.

This is the "turning point": soon you'll kick the F&P's out of the laundry room (and replace them with this 906 pair), trade the I30 in for a new pickup, install more water/drain connections throughout the house, and constantly be on the hunt for more vintage machines. Now you're suddenly a full-time collector before your own eyes...boom boom done!! :) LOL

I can't wait to come out and see them! WOOHOO!
