Two ABBA songs that are my favorites that are not heard as freqently are "The Winner Takes it All" and "Super Trooper". Dad has this album and it was one of his favorites to play on his old Fisher stereo system. Super Trooper has a nice, punchy beat to it that I've always enjoyed. The Winner takes it All is a very dynamic song, going from soft to loud, and changing tempo and beat too.

I like If it Wasn't for the Night and the Pick a Bale of Cotton/On Top of Old Smokey/Midnight Special medley.
I'll have to say though, as much as I love them I have to be in a certain mood to listen to Abba. Sometimes they're just to shrill.

The only ABBA album I have is "The Visitors" (yes, it's a vinyl LP). I like every track on it.

Oh man, they were like my Jr. High Soundtrack. Great vocals and the music actually made you feel GOOD (imagine that nowadays). Even songs that could send you into a diabetic coma (Bang a Boomerang) had your foot tapping. I have many of their songs on my MP3 player in my car. Back in High School, I dated this exchange student named Nina (she was Norweigan) and I would call her Nina, Pretty Ballerina. Damn she was beautiful. Blue eyes and long blond hair. To this day when I hear that song I think of her. God bless ABBA.

I love that song. I had a 12" vinyl single of it in the 1980's by a group called Ramming Speed. I have tried to find it but have not been successful. I don't know what happened to it.
In those days, when I went over to friends homes, I would take some records with me to play, because I always had some of the latest stuff. So, maybe I left it somewhere.

I wasn't an ABBA "fan" so much when they were popular and never bought any of their albums, but that doesn't mean I didn't like them. It's hard not to find most of their material catchy. So when I decided to add some disco and girl group 45's to my jukebox I grabbed a copy of "Dancing Queen" at a thrift store and have since picked up a back-up copy. The flip side is "Fernando" and I'd prefer something a little more upbeat but space is limited in the jukebox. If I find a copy of "SOS" or "Waterloo" I'll pick it up and probably rotate it in at some point, but the big hitters will always be Santo & Johnny and surfing tunes by various artists.
Ever since my partner got an iPod the jukebox doesn't get much exercise. I'm on vacation for the next two weeks so I intend to pop "Sleigh Ride" and "A Christmas Song" in there temporarily and fire it up a few times while I'm off. Still hoping to find a copy of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" someday. I can do quite well without all of the holiday madness thankyouverymuch but for a couple of weeks a year I give in. But "Dancing Queen" makes it onto the play list just about every time the jukebox operates.
