It isn't bad enough that World Kitchen trashed a great American brand by slapping it on cheap stoneware, but when you wave Old Glory over it. . .well, that's just wrong. And on the eve of what would have been the 50th anniversary.
...from the description of the Scandia White collection:
"While incredibly light and sophisticated, this high quality, culinary grade porcelain of Scandia White bakeware is exceptionally durable and is a perfect conductor maintaining heat extremely even."
Either I need to volunteer a lot more time to Literacy Action, or I just need to give up altogether...
every time I am at a garage sale, or place like Goodwill or Salvation Army, and there is genuine CorningWare, and it is a piece I want or can use, I buy it.
So angry about this "new" Corning.
Also, about a month ago, my supermarket was selling what was billed as Corelle, but it was just ugly stoneware.
Further evidence that Corelle Coordinates (stoneware cookware with patterns from American-made Corelle tableware) and Corelle Hearthstone are attempts by World Kitchen to wean consumers off of American-made Vitrelle, the original Corelle material.
