They are actually Maytag Performa's which is actually Magic Chef units, which in reality are Norge machines. Without the model and serial number it is hard to say when they were actually built, if I had to guess id say very late 90's early 2000's?
What kind of wash action does this machine have. It looks like it might have a Whirlpool type clone of their DD straight vane agitators which makes me wonder.
Larger pic of the agitator. Maybe it's a lower-end agitator, like a straight-vane in a Kenmore Galaxy or Capri vs. a dual-action type in a more featured machine?
That was the common strait vane agitator commonly used in the Performa and Magic Chef machines. It just looks different because it has a cap on it instead of the softener dispenser.
This was one of the second generation Performas that came out in January 1999 until the Amanatags took over. This is when they introduced the "dual drive" transmission with the lower post drive to replace the more Norge designed high post drive. The Atlantis line came out at the exact same time. They saved the dual action agitator for the Atlantis . As time went on the dual action agitator was more commonly used in the lower models. Maybe even exclusively by the end. Later they modified the "dual drive" transmission to fit the Amana design. The new transmission along with the new triple lip stem seal was going to solve the Amana weaknesses. As we all know it ended in disaster.
