Filters

The DD has had various filters over the years. Whirlpool and Kenmore both had agitator mounted filters, the self cleaning filters consisted of a ring that clipped onto the underside of the wash basket, the last version was a black plastic plug looking thing that had 3 or 4 fingers sticking out of it. Sort of like the teeth on a comb. After that the four holes were removed from the wash basket design and all filters are gone.

I sort all clothing according to type, color and fabric. I have never had a linting problem in the direct drive unless the Neutral Drain was malfunctioning. That is true even with the Suds Saver.

Clothing that came out of my Calypso on the other hand was also covered in lint.

Hope it isn't too late to answer....

...been out of town on a much-needed vacation.

Lint isn't too much of a problem with my machine (I sort carefully)...no worse than other machines.....except for my old Filter Flo....that machine had the least amount of linting of anything I've used.

The lint filters for WP DD machines are no longer available. Instead you buy a kit that contains little rubber plugs to plug up the holes that were used by the filter.

New Admiral Logo-Image?

Whirlpool has now re-designed Admiral logo, and under logo reads:

A Product of Maytag Corporation.

Strange as most people know the parent company, or maybe Whirlpool is truly trying to make a separate division? Or just a marketing effort as not to appear to the general public as a monopoly?
