Get the book "Driven to Distraction" and read it, as mentioned in a post above. If you feel as if you are reading about your life story, get yourself to a Doc who can help you understand and medicate if needed. That book forever changed my life as I have been on stimulants for the last 10 years and am a changed man. If you really think you have it, do something about it, it will change your life.

Spelling, grammar and syntax

Not to mention punctuation are relevant only to people with too much blank space on their screen and too little to say in their heads.
This is a fun place to talk, not an internet based course in orthography.

Or did I not get the memo, again?

Several of my students have ADD and there does not appear to be any one particular form of treatment which is 'the' universal solution. This tells me that ADD references a group of syndromes and not any one, single problem.

You're best off researching this thoroughly and keeping a journal on which approaches and medications work best for you and which don't.

Seeing how many people here genuinely suffer because of a lack of proper health insurance in the US is appalling.

ADHD

I've had it all my life as well, although in my boyhood days it was dismissed as "hyperactive" and, fortunately or unfortunately I was never put on medication. I took "speed" only once in college. It was a startling revelation for me: I was never able to concentrate and focus as well as I did with that drug. I didn't know until much later that amphetamines helped with attention deficit disorders. Had I been on the medication my college career would have been a lot less problematic.I was prescribed adderall a couple of years ago and it helped a lot, but the amphetamine side-effects were too much for me. Age has tempered it a bit as has another medication that I'm on. You might want to try a couple of different medications to see if there's one that alleviates the ADD symptoms with only minor side-effects.
