Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

This Is Obviously....

....A rent-to-own company.

As has been noted, the price is high and the cost of the lease is even higher.

On the plus side, that information is clearly spelled out in the ad. Anyone who thinks they're getting anything other than a convenient deal at a very high price is a damned idiot.

Other than the funny typo, it is a perfect example of how someone who doesn't have the means to purchase appliances outright or access to reasonable credit ends up overpaying.

Imagine how much cheaper it would be if they were purchased on sale at Lowe's, paid for with a Lowe's card which would reduce the price an extra 5%, and then the Lowe's charge was paid off a month later before any finance charges were incurred.

Ya but

There are too many people that see that and jump on it, because they have NO credit. Stupid people wont read everything, they want a new Washer and dryer. Oh we can get it for X a month, instead of getting something used that will last. Its doubtful these will last trouble free much more than the payoff in 2 YEARS at $99 plus a month. I dont think so.

Such a "deal" if they have the poor credit-would be better off still using the laundramat. At how machines are built today--24mo payments-by the time you have "paid it off" the machines will be about third or even halfway thru their lives--then do you do this all over again?AND--another thought Mr or Mrs No Credit could get a BETTER VINTAGE machine for far less at their local thrift-swap shop!

Idiot --> doesn't read --> no credit --> workable alternative at 1/3 to 1/4 the cost. Anyone see a pattern here? The "rent to own" scoundrels certainly did.

Pritdang expensive instant gratification.

on the bright side....if there is one....these places offer replacement waranties if it breaks during that 2 year period!.....granted, it may not be an exact match, or a new one....

but apparently there are enough suckers in the world to keep them in business!

a few advantages to a place like this, if you need a refrigerator quickly until you can get the one you want, or rent a freezer for an event.....maybe yor renting a place for a short time and need a washer/dryer for a month or two....that may not be so bad.....long term, not happening.....

hey, maybe rent the washer/dryer, take a for a test drive for a month, then shop for a deal at Lowes or Sears.....we do it with cars, why not?

Most of these places...

wont do a short term rental. And they wont take the machines back. They are loan sharks, by any definition.

I have heard of these places taking their machines back and OTHER property if the client doesn't make his rental payments-The rental company is only entitled to THEIR machines and not any other property!!!Yes,even break into clients homes to do this.

Wage Garnishment

Being retired programmer and having done the timekeeping system and the Payroll system for company for last 15 years.  Had lots of employees get wage garnishments.  I had to write into system for 5 different states a warning for payroll clerks on when limit for garnishment had been reached.  Also on time keeping system had a pop up for employee to say a garnishment was being taken.  Sure save lots of problems.  Had to write many reports to show what was taken from wages  Saw lots of credit card and rental garnishments come in for processing.
