i am looking at restoring my inglis belt drive from 1980. the centrepost is pretty rusty. outer tub may be salageable. a man from an appliance store was nice enough to give me the "guts" of a kenmore machine that was similar so that i have some extra parts except it had the longer style basket drive. it had a really bad centrepost but i managed to pound the old tube out of the base assembly. i am trying to source a stainless tube that is the same dimensions as the old tube that houses the bearings and seals. i have so far rebuilt the donor transmission. it just needed a new cover gasket and some new oil. i am stuck on finding this tube. anyone ever tried something like this to re use an old baseplate ?
