Guys, i need an advice.

But before we start another rant about modern appliances let me put some things very clear.

1) I'm desperate for a washing machine that can wash my uniform at once. Up to the moment i'm using a Brastemp Eggo (Eco-Egg) that washes no more than a shirt or 4 pairs of socks at a time. I work all day long and when i arrive back home super tired i need to run 4 cycles only to do my uniform (pants, shirt, apron and vest). Then i squeeze everything by hand and sleep with the thermostat set to 90F to dry the clothes for the next morning (i sleep roasting and wake up with my bed soaking because i sweat like a pig.

2) My budget is low. I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible. Also, the hotel manager won't authorize me to have a full size washer. I already talked to him. He authorized me to have one of those very small ones.

3) I did some research. the two models that fit my budget and my needs are the following:

Haier 1 cu ft - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Haier-1.0-Cubic-Foot-Portable-Washing-Machine/13346456

RCA 0.9 cu ft - http://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-0.9-cu-ft-Portable-Washer-White/38193253

I don't care if they won't last too long of if they are too small or if there are better options that are full size or if they are not speed queen or not made in USA, or sold by Walmart, or whatever. I know both machines are crappy but that's what i can afford now and what the hotel manager will allow me to have here. This will be temporary and I'm going to use this little washer until i move to an apartment and be able to buy a decent full size washer.

They spin, so no matter if the spin speed is poor or not, it will definitely be better than squeeze by hand.

Now, the question number 1:

Which of them is better? The haier is a little bigger, but the RCA has more cycles and I think it has extra rinse options. The Haier lid looks too fragile, the RCA lid also looks fragile, but a little better than the Haier.

On the other hand, the haier is more "famous". Probably some members have or had them. opinions please?

Question number 2:

Is there any member that has any of those washers willing to sell it? Please message me, i can buy it if the price/distance is reasonable.
I have to buy everything for my new home, from mattress to plates and flatware, so a dollar not spent is a big thing for me.

Please let me know your answers asap. My payday is on Friday morning and I'll ask Darryl to order a washer as soon as I talk to him tonight.

haier for me

I'd take that Haier if I was in a similar situation-seems it is actually a pretty good mini washer that does a good wash job, some people on here that have used that machine have spoken highly of it :)

Look at Panda twintubs. Both include shipping from Amazon or Ebay within the same price range as those two. Both have powerful spinners; a towel can dry completely at room temp while you sleep.

Simple plastic machines, little to go wrong. Each function (agitate/pump/spin) has its own motor; no 'transmission'. So light even a feeble geezer like me can pick them up. They do a splendid job. They are fully manual except for clockwork timers on agi and spin.

I have the larger one, XPB-45. It will hold an entire queen bed set at once. But loaded that heavy, best to agi for short times between long soaks. And spin half the load at a time. Both should be lighter than the two you're looking at so the manager shouldn't have a problem.

Haier 1.0 A Great choice

Haier 1.0 Used this washer for 2 years until I overloaded it a killed the transmission. I reviewed all larger portable washers and the Haier is highest rated. I have a 6 year old Haier 1.5 still going. Control panel is reluctant at times.
The 1.0 will spin clothes nearly dry. So they hang dry quickly.
Rca the reviews I read are not so good. Having not used it I can't say much about it.
And The haier is small. and quiet. And cleans really well lint bag does a great job.

Tom....most all of these machines are built the same, with the same features, some have the impellor, and some have an agitator.......powerful little units that adjust to the load....full water wash and rinses....

if you could consider going a few dollars higher, check out this larger model, great capacity, for now and the future.....

lint filter, softener dispenser, and detergent dispenser....

the 'air dry' feature that will spin a load at speeds up to 800rpm, for a time frame up to 90 minutes, clothes will come out almost dry.....

just a thought....

Yes it has a lint catcher and very light

The one I had had a nylon bag for a filter and it clips into a port in the side. also worked super.
The 1.0 haier spins I think at 700 rpm.
however my 1.5 spins about the same sorry can't find the specs.
The lint filter in the 1.5 is a clip in style. and also works super. I found both these machines function great and are quiet.
I only went to the wringer because A. Cool factor. B It can manage 3 king size sheets. Faster laundry day. and I enjoy being involved in my laundry. At least I don't feel weird saying that here. LOL.
The 1.5 can only handle 2 sheets. And the 1.0 1 at a time.

Craigslist If your in a large city

I am sure in a large city craigslist is an excellent option. The Haiers are a no bells or whistle machine.
1.5 has bleach dispenser Usless. 1.0 I don't think it does. And no Fabric softner dispenser. They are good machines.
Shoot in your situation (if it's temporary) the bucket and plunger method with a laundry spinner would work and a spinner is less expensive than a washer.
I don't know if you ever checked out the bucket and plunger method on U-Tube. Really redneck but it works. I know I've used it.

I have the haier. It's quiet, lets you choose between one or two rinses, and has a pretty competitive spin. My clothes dry overnight in front of the heater. It is a surprisingly capable machine.

not exactly clear in the ad.....

but in the reviews, the customers state all parts are included to hook right up to your sink....

there are a hot and cold hoses, and should be a port cap for the hot side if using as a portable.....faucet adapter and drain hose included.....

the only thing that may be an issue is if you have an odd style faucet......I even hooked mine up through the shower hose

you should have it up and running within 15 minutes after getting it....

keep us posted....

Machines with dispensers

My Haier 1.5 has the bleach dispenser and it doesn't release all the bleach in the load so I had tie dyed clothes next load, NOT HAPPY so I add bleach to the wash water, so it rinses out completely..
MY POINT IS the extras are great but these machines have not been around long and possibly all the extras don't work as they would in a normal machine.
Find the brand with a multitude of reviews and make a choice off of that. Bells and whistles are great
but if they don't work properly?????
it is time consuming and a pain. But worth the effort.
Older the production of a brand the more information you can be sure of.
