Advice please

This is a new Speed Queen agitator I ordered online, as you can see one of the agitator's fins is damaged, this no doubt, will damage any fabric it comes into contact with.
Would it be advisable to sand these nicks/burrs out and use the agitator as is or re-purpose it into a paperweight?

You can probably get away with sanding it. That plastic is pretty soft, so it shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Return it?

Usually, when I receive a damaged item I return it.

return and exchange it

i would return the damage agitator and request they send you an undamage one brand new at no extra cost
