Advise on leveling a Miele washer for a novice

I have had my washer for three years, and it is now getting to me, it is not really level, rather then call someone, I would like to take a stab at doing it myself. My macine does not have a spin only selection, I just have not been able to stop the shaking, what would you recoment?-----The washer is a Miele W1213,

Hi! Ritchie "irishwashguy" I would assume if you have a decent Level, you could place it on top of your Washer, loosen the Locking Nuts on the Level Legs and Adjust the Legs, until the Bubble in the Middle Level Tube is as near to the middle of the Lines as possible. Be sure to set the Level both across {side-to-side} and {back-to-back} to make sure that it is completely Level. You should then be able to re-lock the Locking Nuts, to hold the Level Legs at that setting and the Washer shouldn't Shake, unless it is sitting on a Sub-Floor type of Installation, instead of on a more Sturdy Floor, like on a Cement Flooring. I hope that this helps you with your problem.

Is the Machine Vibrating?

If not, I'd leave it alone.

I've constantly fiddled with mine, in the quest to get it level, and all I've ever seem to have done is increased the vibration, the more level it gets.

If the machine is quiet and not vibrating excessively, then I'd leave it be. You'll save yourself a lot of heartache.

Well, that is just it, then the machine is completely empty, not at all, when I wash something heavy like my blue flanel sheets that are almost like heavy blankets, they vibrate like you would not believe. My washer and dryer are in the bathroom across from the bedroom,I have a really small house. When it spins with a full load, one of my friends thought that it was an earthquake! I told her no, it was the washer.I do not use the full spin speed on everything, like sheets for the clinic or jeans, they get too wrinkled, it still shakes however.

That is what i am afraid of. When the man at the hardware store started talking, my head started spinning. I told him I was not that butch, although, the way that you put it, it sounds alot easier wht way that you put it. I really hope that this will fix the problem, is there anything else that I should know?

It may not be the washing machine per se, causing the vibrations, but cases where the wash load has become unbalanced. If the above occurs, the the simple physics of the matter will cause the tub to spin slightly off kilter, causing the vibrations.

Have found with certian heavy loads or even light ones such as sheets, if items tend to ball up and or get tangled together, then my Miele will vibrate during spin cycles. Sheets are notorious for this as sometimes pillow slips ball up inside fitted sheets and what not. Sometimes the entire wash load comes out in one large ball, with everything inside of each other.

It also depends if you have the washer on a wood floor. They will vibrate more on wood than lets say a concrete floor. My Miele during Max 1300 rpm spin will vibrate some and thats on a concrete floor. Also as La Laundress rightfully pointed out its also the load that your doing. I notice more vibration with a jeans load and towels than anything else. So I would check to see if it is out of level and go from there. Also if you go to Miele's website and download the installation instructions for your machine it will tell you what to do.

Hey guys, my Miele has recently started doing the same thing, it used to be awesome during spin, very rarely even vibrated but just lately its started hammering its way out of its place! i've tried levelling it twice now and think i'm getting there but its still not what it was! When only washing a light load its fine but your average wash load it struggles with! Used to have a Hotpoint Ultima that we had to have the Utility Room door shut on when it was spinning and now we're having to do the same with the Miele....gutting!
