Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Favorit. I agree, the suspension legs are a disgrace but these are standard now in cheap machines, cheap Candy and Hotpoints use these also. I was surpised to see these in my AEG!! lol

Logixx. Very good pictures of your machine!! The AEG looks a bit more cramped on the top view and the Privileg hasn't got sound absorbing panels in it, (not that I find my AEG any quieter than the Zanussi's in UK of the same age) also the bottom part of the machine is 'open' where as mine is enclosed no no view of the motor if looking under the machine.

I just saw a pic of the programmer, it looks identical to whats in my machine. This machine is typically a Zanussi machine.

re the suspension legs. Maybe cos they are too small. Drum has hit the glass door a few times on a spin doing this...

Back view inside. See all that insulation material. I don't really notice it making the machine any quieter as the motor noise comes from under the washing machine!

Aeg03: My mum has the same machine as yours! You've commented on my videos on youtube before! I think it's a brilliant machine!

Ronhic. The all push button electrolux models. there one of my favourite. I'm tryin to get my hands on one at the moment actally. I don't think you could lose either way whichever machine you sell to the lady!!

Easy cares 40°C vs easy iron 40°C

Hi AEG03,
what's the difference ? Maybe easy iron hasn't any interim spin while rinsing ?

Here is a 100% Zannie, the Lavamat 1248 : it has AEG chromosomes only in the badge :)
It has the worldwide typical E'lux door frame (thicker in the lower end, thinner in the upper one).

Hi Favorit.

I have used both these programmes and haven't noticed any difference. I think that Easy Iron has more tumbles during the intern spins and also I think it may fill with cold water at the end of the wash cycle to prvent creasing from the 'shock' of introducing cold water from a warmish wash. Not sure. My AEG is pretty dood with not creasing unless I bunch it up with loads of clothes and sheets etc.

I notice the picture uve posted is 100% Zanussi. The Zanussi and AEG have exactly the same spin sequences so not sure what is up with the so called AEG Variomatic spins as the latest AEG's do not spin like the old ones used to. They ramp up but not how the older ones did.

The one thing the Zanussi's don't have is the Overdosing light feature. This has been activated a few times on my machine from doing maintenence washes - this is activataed by foam.

I agree really. I love that model for its very clean lines and Jetsystem.

My concern at the moment is that as we have been known to do 20 loads per week...including up to 14 loads of dog bedding (we have a dog that has had [still?] double ectopic ureters which even after 3 lots of corrective surgery she still has continence issues especially in winter)

...so the Westinhouse has done approximately 7yrs work in 3yrs.

It does have a creak coming from it at times...but the bearings are smooth and everything works brilliantly...

Hey ronhic,
I too love the clean lines on that model its one of my favourite designed models! It seems like you should keep the electrolux for yourself if your westinghouse is taking a battering!!!! I would happily repreave it from you if it weren't for the 1000's of miles between us lol!!

Favorit!: My parents have this machine too: The difference between easy iron is no interm spins basically theres a cooldown at the end of the wash but there is also a cooldown on easy care 40 too.

Darren,

Never let it be said you aren't generous!

Machines are not expensive here compared to what they used to be and I am thinking that running the westinghouse into the ground makes more sense...I can get at least $300 for the Electrolux even though it is 4yrs old...and put that money to a new machine when the time comes
