Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Kenny -

I don't know really - just didn't feel that I needed such a pristine set. I have a couple nice sets already, and since some of the fun for me is rescuing an ugly duckling that is worthless, these didn't appeal so much.

Kevin expressed interest when I posted these originally and seems to be getting more fun out of them already than I would have. If that makes any sense....

I dunno Kevin - I find BOLs fascinating, but that's not the reason in this case. Had they been a white BOL set, otherwise in similar shape, etc. I still would have offered them up.

Maybe it was a combination of stuff, but the "gotta have them" wasn't there. It was there in a recent acquisition of a 1965 Lady K set in Coppertone, so go figure....

Some of the Kenmore TOL machines of the past actually made using them more complicated than using a 70-series machine, especially if one wants a cold rinse, but that is not the case with this set.

amazing

those are the Roadmaster Estate Wagons of the Wash and Dry set. So amazing. Remember kitchen carpet from that era? they would look so good on it, with a luminous ceiling overhead.

CAPRICE estate wagon? Sheesh!

How quickly they forget. The two-way tailgate was invented by Ford and introduced on the '66 Country Squire. Heavily advertised for years. I know, but we're all a little obsessive here....

Lovely machines. So many nice touches compared to what they make now...."Electronic sensor"! And don't you forget it!

Congrats!

I always wanted this set in coppertone as a kid - right at the end of my bed as it was only place I could put them where they would be seen prominently in my room! I was a bit behind the "current" day at the time but cut pictures/ads of the set from magazines.

Congrats on a great find!

I remember that ad Greg, I always wished I had those machines and that big pile of laundry to do!!

I like the Whirlpool control knobs like this the best, our harvest gold set from the early 70's was like yours. The set I bought in the mid 80's had the setting painted on to the control panel, it was a great machine, but I liked the older style control knob better.

Again, congrats on a beautiful Whirlpool set!

Update - and reply to DADoeS about the dryer "speed con

The update.
The washer needs a new pump because it will not drain w/o help (lowering the drain hose to about a foot off the ground). The dryer seems to work well, but may need some rollers because after running for about 5 minute develops a muted, but annoying high-pitched squeal.

To DADoES: Yes you were correct about the "speed control" controlling the airflow vs. the tumble speed. The concept vs. functionality does not make sense to me... unless that is meant for ultra light and dainty things that can possibly sucked against the air outlet within the drum...???

And again... thank you to all of you for you kind comments and wishes!
