My two cents
Gary, I have that A712 control panel grafted onto my Maytag LAT9350(last of the "Dependable Care" models). I did it because I liked the controls better than what I had and I like the cycles on the dial better. I'd grab that set.

Gary, grab these. What the hell are you waiting for? These are the pair I have in my kitchen! They are the last of the good Maytags... the 12 series, and that is the TOL washer. Grab 'em!!!

512 set
We bought the 512A washer and matching gas dryer brand new in March of 1986 and lasted until late 2005. The dryer died first and the washer started to die in December 2005. This was the best heavy duty set I have ever used. Sadly I didn't know of AWO at the time and had the old Maytag's hauled away when we took delivery of the GE set we replaced them with.

When was the LA308 washer produced. The one I got is the old center-dial style with a 1-speed motor. Just curious but I'm guessing mid seventies?
