Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

This was not a great as the center dial classics, but certainly more durable than when Maytag started blanketing the line with Norge, Tragic chef and Admarial styled machines in the 90's.

Here is a pic of the washer being thoroughly cleaned. Took off the lid to clean it properly.

They are wonderful machines

Maytag A810

I hope someone is still monitoring this site. I have an opportunity to buy a Maytag A810 washer and dryer. What would be a fair price?

Thanks!

Depends on the condition.

A W/D set of that vintage will probably need some rehab, therefore you'd want to get them as cheaply possible, around $40-75 each, less if the seller is motivated.

On the other hand, a low mileage TOL set in excellent shape i.e. no rust, dents, chips in the porcelain, scratches, leaks or other damage/excessive wear could be worth up to $200 to the right person. In any case I'd start with a low offer, people are usually happy to just to get rid of them without getting scrapped and making few bucks in the process.

The seller says they belonged to a single gentleman and that he took very good care of them. They do look great but I have no way of knowing what maintenance has been done. I have an old A410 that is still working fine but I have maintained it, had a couple of repairs lately in addition to new hoses and belts.

The seller wants $350 for the pair which I feel is way too high.

$350 for the pair

$350 is not going to happen, there just isn't a big demand for 30+ year old top loaders, no matter how well built they were. $200 is about top dollar for that set, and the seller would be lucky to get that in my opinion.

I'd offer $150, assuming they are in very good condition. However, before forking over any cash I'd pop off the washers front panel for a look under the hood, checking for rust, evidence of water/oil leaks, etc. Also, check for oil leaks under the base.
