Hi bet you will get mixed answers to that question, CR if i remember correctly went on a rant about the maytage where the fins did not connect with the "skirt". Probably works well but that rotoflex looks vicious. LOL.

I could remember that CUI commented that Consumers had clothes damage from agitators that had "slots" under the base vanes. This would be the KN DA agitators and the Maytags.I did expereince some "shredding" with the Maytag-I bought it in early 90's.I did file and smooth the lower parts of the base vanes-the low edges of the vanes were SHARP!-filed and sanded that edge off-improved greatly-less shredding. Also had shredding with a "triple action" DD KN machines-traded that one for the WP Imperial 90 with the surgilator-BIG-BIG improvement!!!I just was wondering what experiences of clothing damage if any-Roto-Flex users had.

Roto-Flex agitator

The people my Great Aunt worked for had the exact matching set that's in the ad. I often would gow with her on the job and help with the laundry. She or her emloyers never mentioned any problem with clothes damage from the agitator. I would think a problem like that would show up pretty quick in testing during the design phase of the agitator.

answers and opinions

alr: That picture is a Speed Queen washer/dryer combo...very rare machine. I'm pretty sure no one in the club has one, and I don't think anyone has ever even seen one in person. But I wouldn't be that surprized if Gansky doesn't find one someday.

Kenmore: I don't know how rough that agitator was, but after all those hours of development and testing the Rotoflex was the shortest-lived agitator in Kenmore history.

lol!!!

Nice little pic there jason. Now its my turn!!!!!!!

This is what could have happened if i went back in time and gave the design of the dual action agitator to kenmore!!!

Roto-Flex

Don (jetaction) has a 65 Lady Kenmore washer with the Roto-Flex agitator and hasn't reported any ill-effects on his washing.

I read some patents and depositions in a Canadian lawsuit for Whirlpool on the Dual-Action agitator some time ago. When they were testing different designs, a prototype version without flexible fins at the bottom was nicknamed the "Golden Gobbler" as it had turned a test load into mush in a rather short time. Flexible fins were added and all was well...

Dual-Action ad

Interesting...looking at the results, the GE Dispensall (3rd machine in lineup) came in a close second.

Is that a Whirlpool right next to the Kenmore? That one appeared to have scored the worst. If it was indeed a Whirlpool, it makes me wonder if the whole thing was rigged...

John's SQ combos were at the warehouse at the last convention. I think one of them was found in Boston?

The Kenmore does look like it's sitting next to a Whirlpool in the ad - how interesting. I've only had the winged-agitator version of a WP large capacity and it seemed to do a very good job with large loads. The GE is a Dispensall and might have been a spiral ramp Activator? Most of us know what the Maytag could do with 15lbs of mixed cottons, that doesn't look rigged!

Roto-Flex agitator

"Does the Roto-Flex NOT have a skirt at the bottom? I don't think I have ever seen one."

See post 62710

Jaune

Please don't think I'm stupid but post 62710 is why I'm asking the question. In the picture it looks like it does not have a skirt unless it's white which makes little sense for the time period. Then in post 62720 there is mention of fins not being connected to the skirt. Although it's about a Maytag agitator at this time.

Can anyone here actually vouch for how well the Roto-Flex actually performs? I'd imagine it'd do well w/ smaller loads...

Roto-Flex cleaning

Again, neither my Great Aunt, or her employers ever complained about the cleaning ability of their LK with Roto-Flex agitator (they had 3 children, too). I used to help with the laundry when I would go with my aunt, and I never noticed anything that wasn't clean.
