I saw Lewis being interviewed on a TV show several years ago and he was as cranky and cantankerous as I expected him to be.
Launderess, I agree; The Addams Family was the 'thinking man's' freak-family show. But I still watched The Munsters, too.
As a kid, I enjoyed all the shows in which people created their own realities: The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Addams Family, Munsters, etc.
Another TV icon of my youth passes on. Hopefully he's happily hanging upside down in the afterlife with his trademark cigar between his lips...
