Spotted it earlier this afternoon during a trawl.

There are a number of nice older zannys on at the moment, including a jetsystem. Appears that they all come out of the woodwork in groups.

Harpenden - a long way away. Will have to think long and hard about this one.

Meanwhile, if anyone closer to it is more definite in going for it, let me know and I will step aside. One less thing for me to have a crisis over.

A friend parents had one of these when we were kids, late 80's early 90's. Her Mum always used to cram it full, she was one of those who washes everything together, lights, darks, towels, you name it, it all went in lol.. If I remember rightly, she used to mostly use the quick wash programme, which, again if remember rightly, only took about half an hour. It used to count down the time on the display. From what I can remember,the Non fast coloureds cycle wash quite long, compared to other machines of the time. To operate the machine, you switched it on with the button in the middle of the facia, then I think it was the left hand button under the display that selected the programme, the buttons in the middle were options, sorry, cant remember what, I think one may have been half load, but not 100% sure and the red button to the right started/paused the programme. Theirs was the only one I have ever seen, I expect they were very expensive at the time.

indeed rare !

never seen it on italian market / brochures
anyway it wasn't made before 1986.
In mid eighties the styling was like the R800 / R900 - sorry Z800/ Z900 - like the Washcraft Z919 .
This styling began with the earliest jestsystem

Im new here so apologies if i shouldve posted somewhere else first to say hi, but 'hi everyone' :)

I found the website by accident after Googling 'Hoover A3350', which id seen on Ebay! Im amazed there's so many other people as mad about washing machines as myself!

Currently ive just the one washing machine of my own, a 1980s Zanussi FL1012, which i bought on Ebay for £15 in 2007. I got it for my first house but that's now rented out and the machine is in my parents garage whilst im back home. Gotta give it a run when i finally convince Mum to let me move her 20 month old Zanussi Essential into the garage!

That FLE3000 looks a great machine, sadly i don't think i'll convince the parents to let me cram anything else into the garage, but someone from here MUST GET IT! Don't let it go to one of these little shops that give it a quick clean & sell it as 'recondtioned' for near the price of a new Indesit!

Hi Liam.

Great to have another new UK member in the ranks.

The Computawash is a really great looking machine. I missed out on the freaky looking, almost matching dryer, a few months ago. They really are different, to say the least!

Darren - are you game for the machine? Having being foiled at the first attempt are you toying with the idea of a second go?

Is anyone interested in it?

I dont particularly want the three hour each way drive, especially as August is very hectic already, but as people have said - it needs saving.

Thanks for the welcome :) Im sooooo jealous of you and your fellas collection, i want my own garage to put some old machines in, grrr!

Id never seen a Zanussi digital machine of that era, presumed they didn't exist, now ive seen it that's something else i want! I can't bid anyway as it ends next Saturday and i'm right in the middle of my weekend in Brighton, so someone more experienced will just have to come get it!

Hi Liam.

Just noticed you own a Zanny Sensor Dryer.

Not knowing much about the dryer I bid on, would it be one and the same model?
If so, i knew it was more recent than the original FL's, but never knew it was that recent.

I wonder what it was with Zanussi, that they appeared not to really push their top end models. I have never seen the Computawash, sensor dryer or the 1980's Input System machines in any Zanny brochures!

Hoover did a similar thing with their last Keymatic (A3112) and last Selectamatic (A3114). The latter machine, so far, has never been seen in any official brochures. Myself, Mike King and Rob Stubbs sifted through 30 years worth of Good Housekeeping magazines 10 months or so ago and neither the A3114, or the preceeding model (A3064), appeared even once.

Seems that all emphasis was placed on advertising the standard machines and if someone was convinced to buy the higher end models when they went to the showroom, so much the better.

Annoying for appliance history fiends, like me.

I do indeed Paul, however its one of the later designs of the same era as the first Aquacycle washing machine. It has a white facia with a clear dial with turqoise & blue markings on it, abit like the DW907 Multirack diswasher models, if that helps?

The one you were going to bid on looks like it's just abit newer than my FL1012, sortof late 80s to early 90s? The reason i think it's a teeny bit newer to my FL1012 is that the door catch is flush to the front of the machine, whereas i think the slightly earlier machines of a similar design have a curve in the handle design. Unless of course the photo'd model has had a new catch!

I have seen an Electronic Sensor dryer of this era on Ebay before, but it wasn't all digital like the one you pictured, it just had a dial & buttons, like my newer one.

I LOVE your Z919T - was that the one on Ebay from Stoke on Trent?! If it is, i showed that to my parents coz i wanted it but i was convinced it wouldnt sell for the £50 starting bid - now i know why it went for that much ;)

Agreed tho about the lack of high end models being pushed. I guess it's abit like today, people look at prices alot, so advertising the cheaper models will get customers into the brand. Shame tho, as you say.

That was the one in Stoke on Trent and we only paid that money because it was round the corner,so to speak, and because of the condition it was in. Or supposed to be in!

Visually it is superb, electrically its fine too, but mechanically it has turned out to require work doing to it.

It was a lot of money for what it turned out to be, so you can get your fingers burned with ebay purchases.

Dont blame the machine for it though and it will, by year end with a bit of luck, have further money spent on it to get it back into fighting form.

Yeah had it been just round the corner id have paid that too, as just collecting appliances can prove pricey with fuel etc, so with it being nearby it's a far more attractive proposition.

It does look immaculate i must say. I shouldnt think you couldve found one in better cosmetic condition than that. It needs new bearings doesn't it? That's not too expensive to sort is it?

That should go for years once youve spent some more time on it i should think. I think my FL must be needing some parts soon, the couple i bought it off said it'd never had a repair since they got it around 1988! It makes this descreet squeak during the 500/600rpm spin, but it doesn't sound severe & my great aunts washer drer of the same design has made a far more horrific squeak for years with no consequences, so God knows.

You & Rob fancy a few more Zanussis then Paul?

Visual condition is great and yep the rest should be sortable.
We are hoping that it is just bearings and they are readily available.

the more awkward is the wobbly timer. Should be simple to solve as, it appears, the simple tightening of a screw should solve it.
Difficult thing is that it requires the removal of the programme dial. This is removed by popping off the front cap, but ours refuses to budge and we dont want to damage it.

Will get sorted, when we get brave enough, and when we have a spare in case the original cracks.

Re: a few more Zanussi's - not counting any chickens yet!
