100 washes???

i dont know where they get the idea from that 100 washes is six months worth of washing, i do an average of 15 loads of washing a week and there is only two of us and our dog, better for the environment for using less water? i thought using 44lbs of plastic every 100 washes would be worse

My g.f was talking to me about this after seeing it on yahoo. I immediately shot her down with the fact people have been trying to make waterless/detergentless machines since the 80's and none have been any good so far. We are not having one! lol.

Give me plenty of water in my machine anyday!

Darren

What on earth????

There is no way I would ever buy one.

Makes me feel embaressed it was designed here in the UK!

Give me water and more water!!

Mark

44lb. is a lot of weight. The machine would probably have to be bigger than a standard consumer front loading machine. I bet it will probably be expensive.

water is FOR washing and sustaining life.

Perhaps a better way to save water is to outlaw coupons and flyers in the newspaper and in the mail. Go to a website and print 'em.

Or for that matter outlaw the freaking newspaper, when it takes 150 gallons (567L +/-) of water to make a Sunday edition. It's all avaiailable online folks.

This idea is absurd.

Interesting, to me anyway, is that litres is converted to pints for the UK audience.

So how expensive would these plastic chips be?
What kind of plastic?
Will the plastic chips be recyclable?
How will this impact oil supplies? As far as I know, the major ingredient of most plastic is OIL.

Breaking news: A ten-car pileup on the expressway this morning because one of the chips was missed in a sock and stabbed the driver in the foot - not to mention the underpants and bra horrors we could imagine...

Nope, there must be a better solution than this. I'd take a belt-drive Kenmore with a suds-saver over Xeros any day.

How the hell is the machine going to untangle all those plastic chips from the laundry at the end of the cycle so they drop through the pretty little trap door at the bottom of the drum??? Gimme a break! You'll be picking plastic outta your drawers after every cycle. And what does a cup of water and detergent do with 12 - 15 pounds of clothes?? How does it rinse?
