Almost brand new Whirlpool washer with bad control board

What the heck is up with Whirlpool and bad control panels?

Is it possible the failing sensors could be repaired? Maybe a diaphragm that get displaced and could be glued in position, or a smear of grease in a strategic spot? I'm guessing it's a molded plastic design that can't be taken apart without destroying it...
