"Amana Duet" Front-Load washer.

Now that the Amana Enlighten washer was dicontinued just last October Amana has come out with a brand-new Front-Loader reminiscient of the Whirlpool Duet. The machine is just called the "Amana Front-Load washer" unless some one could actually respond to this post being my second new thread today and tell me the name. The machine's model number is NFW7200TW. The only color it comes in is white but as the president of Ford once said: "You can have it in any color you want as long as it is white." The machine is pretty small at only 38 inches tall, 27 inches wide, and 30 3/4 inches deep. More information at the included link. Please someone actually respond this time.

Those are far from a Duet. They are made by Samsung and rebadged. I have the Maytag Neptune version of this washer. I will have to say it cleans OK but thats about it. This washer is a pain in the ass trying to balance itself. I certainly wouldnt want another one like it. The dryer is decent.

Any links to reviews of the machine? Epinions does not list it yet. I thought Amana was owned by Whirlpool. I've never seen a Samsung that is Duet-based like the one you are mentioning.

These are not Whirlpool made or even duet-ish. They are Samsung based. Maytag before they were swallowed by Whirlpool must have had a contract with Samsung to build X amount of the machines for Maytag. Maytag swallowed up Amana a few years ago so thats how you see an Amana/Samsung washer like this today. You need to get out more "funguy"

Oh, so that's why we have Maytag-branded Samsungs, and have had them long before Samsung-branded Samsungs. Also, you're saying that Matag bought-out Amana and them Whirlpool bought-out Maytag so that's why Amana is now owned by Whirlpool.

You misquoted. The color henry Ford was referring to is black. Black was about the only color cars came in until the early 1930s at best. It was pretty luxurious for a car to be any other color.

Yeah, just learned about that in History class recently. The first multi-colored car was the Chevrolet in 1930. But I changed it to white on purpose because obvioulsy the washer is white.

The internal heater on my Neptune POS doesnt raise the temp at all. It will maintain the temp. Also the washer does not have whats called an EcoBall to keep the water in the drum. Once the detergent is flushed from the dispensers it sits in the sump area where the heater is and doesnt get into circulation. I notice it more with Persil MegaPearls since at the the beginning of the drain I can hear the MegaPearls running thru the hose and down the drain. On my Miele all the detergent is used since it has the ecoBall. Comparing one to the other is like apples and oranges.
I think at the time we spent 1300 for the MAH8700 Neptune and I spent 1600 for the Miele 4800. The $300 difference and the build of the Miele is much better than the Neptune. But as they say you get what you pay for.
When I was at Costco today looking for driveway melting salt...they ran out...I looked at the Whirlpool Duet Sport. They wanted $599 for the washer which I thought was a good deal. But it looks cheaply made and the cycle knob was broken. As they say you get what you pay for.

Most cars came in a variety of colors almost from the beginning. It was just the Model T Ford that was black only (due to quicker drying). Ford offered different colored Ts at the beginning of production in 1908 and again near the end of production in the late 1920s.

Lower priced cars might have had a limited number of alternative paint schemes compared to upper priced custom models, but there was plenty of color on the showroom floor before the 1930 Chevrolet.

nmaineman, try letting the washer fill for maybe half of its fill period before adding the detergent to keep it from being flushed into the sump. Or, let it fill then add the detergent to the dispenser and chase it down into the washer with a couple of cups of hot water. It's not a complicated dispenser.

Maytag had contracted with Samsung to provide service for their products as well as their own branded Neptunes made by Samsung. Now that Whirlpool has the Amana brand on it's teat, it's interesting that they are still using some Samsung products. Value leader, higher profit, service and parts structure is already in place...
