Amazing photo "scanning" App

I just ran across this last night and I am pretty floored with this app. For anyone that has ever tried to take a photo of a photo to send to someone, this is a Google App to download and play with. It is the Google Photoscan App. The darned thing just works. You take a picture of the picture from several different positions and the processing removes any glare, curl distortions, corrects color casts etc. I have tried it on a few images and it works great.

I love this. I took two, both came out about the same. Once I had the pic loaded into the Camera Roll, I adjusted it with the simple editor in iPhoto.

The two crazy things I have noticed so far is the ability to correct for distortions, I shot some fairly curled photos and it flattens the image perfectly. The corner adjustment tool is extremely intuitive and precise too if manual adjustments are needed.

The other amazing ability is the glare reduction. Last night a couple of us were playing with the app and someone wondered if you could get a good image of a print under glass, yep it was FLAWLESS, not a hint of glare!

I have shot a few images out of magazines and advertisements and they come out better then just shooting a photo.

Another handy use for the amazing electronic Swiss-Army tool that is a smart phone.
