American dishwasher in Belgium

Pol from Belgium bought an AEG topload dishwasher in the Netherlands. He mailed me some pictures and asked me if I could find out more about this machine. Ofcourse you all recognize this machine as a Mobile Maid, with just another label on it. Here are a few pictures.

AEG Favorit, the name AEG still puts on the dishwashers.

220 Volts, 50 cycles for Europe. Heating element is 2000W and the motor 420W. Apparently the motor and the heating element don't come on at the same time since it only draws a max. of 2000 Watts

He sent me also two scans of a brochure that shows the Mobile Maid under yet another brand. It's GHIA, a Belgium brand. Pol nor I have never heard of this brand.

Apparently the GHIA was sold in Germany but built (under GE license I suppose) in Belgium. Notice how the brochure tells us that there are a few 380 Volts models that draw a total of 6850 Watts. That must have been pretty fast dishwashers!!!

Interesting indeed! 6850 watts?? I see there are some models that only use 16 liters of water, probably lower end models?

Just like the GE's here in the states - a little later than my 57 model since it has the top-shower. Thanks for posting these pics, always good to see you had a few poor performing machines too! ;-)

Wow that is cool! Interesting to see the interior tank in blue as opposed to pink.

"Princess" phone blue at that! Cute little "bow-tie" impeller. What a fun looking machine! Those things really did do a decent job of cleaning BUT you could hear them roar all the way across the house! Not much on noise insulation in those days!
