Big Block Nova anyone??

A number of years ago a friend had bought a '73 Nova with a big block in it and a 4 speed. He was told it was a 454, but it turned out to be a 396. It was not factory installed since 1970 was the last year for a factory big block Nova. It was still a lot of FUN though!

A very rare model, indeed!

For those on a budget... you could order the little known GT-37. Available on any Tempest or Le Mans V8, you could order it with all of the same "GO-FAST" goodies as the GTO, up to and including the 455 HO in '71 & '72. Talk about a SLEEPER!

Equal time...

Over in the Oldsmobile camp, if you wanted something fast and flashy, but didn't have the budget for the 442, you could opt for the Rallye 350.  Tight suspension, 325 HP 350 V8, go fast flash, etc.   A neat car indeed!

Wow Kevin, you've posted some ad's I've never seen before. The white '70 Judge is new to me, and very cool. Definitely a play on the '69 Woodward Ave Verde Green GTO ad from the previous year. Also, love the '69 Chevy line-up in barn ad. Your choice of three.

My father and his buddies had many, many different muscle cars during the 70's, and some those guys still have those cars today. Yenko Chevelles, 427 'Vettes, Mach 1 Mustangs, various GTO's, and an original owner '74 Super Duty Trans Am, amongst others. Dad's daily driver from 74 through 77 was a 1970 Trans Am. Ram Air III with a Turbo 400, no A/C. If I were to have any of the cars from his past, it would be this one.

Thanks for posting one of my favorite Firebird ads.

I agree, a 70-72 Trans Am (either white or Lucerine Blue) with a 455-HO and a four speed would be the cat's meow.

(can you imagine what those two idiots were feeling like after a few burnouts? Shot taken at what is now Cedar Falls Raceway, Cedar Falls, IA, sometime in 1976.)

I'm not into muscle cars anymore, but wouldn't mind having a triple black 1967 Plymouth GTX with a 440/4speed handed over to me.

The rare 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler!

I would really LOVE to have one of these!

I came across a guy with one of these a few years ago at an early morning car show / cruise. After talking to him quite a while and drooling (heavily) over the car, he offered to give me a ride in it. I accepted of course and much to my enjoyment, the ride included a FULL THROTTLE blast thru 1st, 2nd & 3rd gears! It was pretty dam awesome!

The 1970 Rebel Machine

I love the way they worded this ad, very funny!

"Incidentally, if you have delusions of entering the Daytona 500 with the Machine, or challenging people at random, the Machine is not that fast. You should know that."
"....but it is faster then a Volkswagen, a slow freight train and your old mans Cadillac." LOL

My Hero!!

THAT SHELBY IS AMAZING! Those GT350s and 500 fastbacks in that body style are just pure and simple gorgeous!

The taillights are what makes it extra awesome.
