AMI personal portable washer

I have this AMI portable washer with tub for sale.

Anyone interested? I am in St. Louis or I can ship it.

I think this is from the 1950s.

It does work.

The basket is actuated by a plastic screw drive, so it moves up and down to agitate.

Then there are three open, metal tubes inside the basket that appear to be part of a pump mechanism because it created quite a bubbling, whirlpool action in the pot that could never be created by the up-and-down action of the basket/filter.

It has the original, rubber feet still intact but they're a bit dry and could use replacements.

The red plastic base appears to have been glued together.

CU tested that in the 1958 report on washers, if I remember correctly.

Picked up an AMI washer years ago, probably have used it less than ten times. *LOL*

Rather effective for what it is (think Frigidaire "jet action" in a bucket), but noisy as all get out. Also like those Frigidaire washers it kicks up tons of froth; use of a low to no suds detergent is best.
