So the rubber wings on the agitator of my 1949 ABC-O-Matic automatic washer were getting really bad and starting to rip. So it was time to make a new set...

Here is my beautiful ABC-O-Matic, it is the earliest model I've ever seen with the original style spin clutch which was on top of the spin pulley and not on the motor shaft like the later models...

Here are the before and after, I also painted the aluminum agitator back to it's original white, although I doubt this paint will hold up to hot water and detergent...

Looks so much nice and they are so soft and pliable like it's 1949 all over again!

Greg was kind enough to lend me his 1955 Kelvinator agitator to use a wing as a model as the wings on his agitator was still in pretty good shape...

another before and after...

These wings were very challenging to make a mold out of because there is not flat surface for the wing to sit flush to the bottom of the mold box. So I suspended them in clay, the creature from the black lagoon slowly being encased in silicone!

and the finished 2 part mold...

I also had to learn how to remove and install these big tubular rivets, so I got this tool that worked perfectly...
