An Australian Supermarket Detergent Aisle- Pics

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Over here in australia we have a supermarket Homebrand called Balc and Gold, you can see those products mixed in with the normal ones, on the liquids pic they are down the bottom, called simple names like Green Laundry Liquid (hello, what scent please???)
Hope you guys enjoyed the insight into aussie detergents.

Amazing....the Bio Zet box looks just like my box of its Japanese brandmate, Kao Attack! (Except for the Japanese, of course.)

Your shelves have FAR more "green" detergents than our typical shelf does...

I'll take one Spree Lemon, one Drive regular, one Drive liquid (hey, they're on sale! LOL..), one Radiant liquid refill, and one bottle of the Cuddly Aloe...

Wow. I've actually extended my mania for shopping to stores in the Southern Hemisphere...

I'm going to be out of control down there.

Is powder detergent on its way out in the USA?

wow!! I have never seen such a huge selection of detergents and fabric softeners in the supermarkets here in the states.
It seems laundry powder is still quite popular down in OZ. Laundry powder seems to be dying out here in the states. Every store I go into whether its Waldbaums in NY or Albertson's in Florida, seem to heavily favor liquid over powder. =(

On Monday night, I noticed that our Stop and Shop has eliminated the powder shelves entirely and crammed the remaining Tide and A&H powders at the end, by the dry bleaches.

Liquid Spree and Scotts

Hello Matty,
I notice in the liquid section, you have a liquid Spree,I don't remember seeing that here in N.S.W. is it a new product?,and also the "Scotts's Liquid laundry detergent, is that also a generic brand exclusive to I.G.A?, you see where I live in south west Sydney, I do not have an I.G.A. near me, I only have Coles and Woolworths and they don't stock it.
Does your I.G.A. stock "Aura" liquid detergent, it is made by a local company over in Perth called Pascoe's, I e-mailed them a long time ago to ask why it is not available in N.S.W., and thye wrote back telling me that Coles and Woolworths decided to stop selling it which is a real pity as Aura was the very 1st liquid detergent released in Australia.
Cheers.
Steve.

I think Aura is sold in IGA, in fact i'm sure of it, will have a look closer next time and get back to ya. Spree liquid came out in about September of 2005, for a while it was only available in Lemon (a yellow bottle), but now its available in both Lemon and Lavender (the purple bottle you see down there). Recently however i have not seen much of the lemon one. Its a good detergent, not one of those horrid white ones that is just powder in suspension but a very nice gel, the lemon one is described by my freind Nat as 'Laundry Honey' because it looks a lil bit like honey lol. Scotts laundry liquid seems to be a no name product, i've never given it a second glance and never seen anyone use it. The IGA homebrand one is the one called Swift.

Matt
