Well I didn't think i'd ever seen anything like this. Just trawling through my subscriptions.

Looks to be from the GL2 sort of era complete with square door and 380rpm anticlockwise spin which is odd to see through that hoover square door!

Zanussi

I think you hit the mail on the head with the comparison to the Electra GL2 which was made by Zanussi and I think this is also manufactured by them. There is some resemblence with some of the mid to late 1970s Zanussi machines - this one seems very BOL with slow spin, cold fill only and no fabric dispenser. In specification it resembles the zanussi DL4 which was on the go when my mother bought her first auto, a DL6 in 1975. Dont forget Zanussi made machines for many other manufactureers including Hotpoint - in spec this matches the 1823 from 1977/78. And Hoover had connections with Zanussi right back to the mid 1960s as they manufactured all Hoover fridges and freezers.

Wowzer!
Thats certainly different and it looks great.

How strange seeing a Matchbox'esque dial on a continental machine.

Is the advert below a more TOL relative, do we think?

Paul
p.s advert is not mine and is from Daswaschmachinenforum (apologies for spelling)...

It's so odd! lol. Though a fab machine to carry the name.

I remember seeing that ad on that site Paul! Is it still going? If only I had google chrome to translate it when I used to go on it lol.

Do we have enough pics/info to start a brands making for other brands thread? I'd love that.
