<i>Was it Hagatha and Enchantra who arrived for visits in that old electric automobile that would appear in Sam's living room?</i
Tom usually it was Mourice who arrived in that car into the living room, but I do remember an episode where I think Hagatha and Enchantra that arrived together in that same old car, although I didn't know it was electric powered. <br <br

Oh my, the different ways this site has changed me.....LOL All for the good though.

Robert

I know you probably hear this alot, but this site changed my life quite a bit. I can't believe it's been just over a year ago since I stumbled upon it, but I can't imagine not having it now. Honestly, if you started charging to use the site I would pay. You have way outdone yourself with all of the work you've done here. I can't even imagine the time and effort it must take to do this, not to mention, you have a life at home that probably gets put on hold because of this sometimes. You'll always have my heartfelt thanks for making this outlet possible for me and bringing the appliance world into my daily life. (I'm not just saying all of this to be on Endora's good side. I mean it!) :-)

Thanks for everything Robert!

Jon

Wow, what's been going on here??? :)

I really do like the site, and it's been a calm little oasis that's helped me get through a really tough year.

It's nice to see you are linked up with Vacuumland as well, which has a lot of fun photos, infos, etc.

Robert, I know this site is your pride and joy, and it must indeed take quite a bit of spare time to maintain it. There are quite a few really nice members here!

About the criticisms, which seem to have been made with good intentions, I would think taking away the vintage graphics would detract from the appearance from the site. When I'd have this up on my work computer, the girl next door used to see it and scream, "RRRRRRR-RETRO TIME!"

Also, AFAIK, this site has always had a lot of older appliances on it, because the owner is a preservationist and that's his focus of interest. Why bring this up, all of a sudden?

As far as responding to questions and such, people have to be able to say what they think, no? You certainly could never infer that there should be a CHARGE for help anyone gives here, anymore than you'd bill your next door neighbor for the same kind of help!

The only think I am wondering about is, if this was an personal, private email that washertalk posted to robert directly, why post it here, for all the board to mock?

Maybe washertalk is embarrassed, and that's why he pulled his profile.

Hopefully, all will work out.....hope everyone is well!

Pretty new here, but thanks Robert

I haven't been a member very long, but I love this site. The graphics are fun. The layout makes the site stand out from a hundred other ones about other interests. I don't know my washers well, but everyone here has been helpful and supportive of everyone else's desire to collect their dream models.

Glen helped me out the other week in repairing a washer at work. I surely would have destroyed it without his help.

I don't think there's an intentional bias towards a certain vintage. It's natural that items have to age awhile to become appreciated by collectors. I never would have guessed that the coppertone Kenmore of the 70's that I grew up with would be collectible. If I would have known, I might have been more gentle when I climbed on it.

Thank you again Robert. I am shocked that you find the time to work, maintain the site, collect washers, and that you've also restored vintage tv's. That's an A+ in my book.

Ummmm No...

The only thing I am wondering about is, if this was an personal, private email that washertalk posted to robert directly, why post it here, for all the board to mock?

Because that is my prerogative and if you go back and re-read my post you will see that I did not reveal who sent the email, only the email text itself was posted. I would do that same thing again in heartbeat. It was the tone of the email that really annoyed me, not necessarily the contents of the email. While I am truly sorry that Washertalk deleted his profile, that was not my intention, I will say there would have been a very simple way to rectify this whole situation everything would have been fine.

Let me tell a little story:

So a couple of weeks ago on Vacuumland there was a post about an extremely rare Electrolux vacuum, and it just so happens that I used to own that exact same vacuum cleaner about seven years. Well I had absolutely no idea back then how rare it was. One day I had a little mini flood with a washer hose that I left out of the sink and this vacuum got all wet and pretty much ruined the poor thing. So I took a picture of the vacuum turned over on its side (like it’s dead) and posted it on aw.org to be funny. Well fast forward to Oct 2007 and a thread is created on Vacuumland about this exact vacuum so I thought it would be fun to repost that picture of the poor dead rare Electrolux vacuum. Well one of the members who I didn't know personally posted a message about how upset he was to see that vacuum in that condition and how could someone do that. Well I felt just horrible about the whole thing so I immediately and publicly apologized for what I had posted and how it was not my intention to make anyone feel bad what so ever. It turned out that he was just pulling my leg and I spoke to the member personally via a phone call and we had a good laugh about the whole thing. But my point is a simple and immediate sincere apology goes a long way to making everything all better again, but nothing even close to that happened here.
