Speaking of mixers, here's a rather old GE hand mixer I found in the house. Complete with rusted beaters that fall out, but the motor still works.
The handle portion is plastic, with the main body which houses the motor and gears, is metal. There's a gray rubber ring around the "face" of the mixer - I guess so it doesn't scratch surfaces when in storage.
I'm guessing, from the power cord, that this was made in the late 40's - early 50's.
Obviously I haven't even tried to clean it up...
