Scurrilous Behaviour

I see Mike rummaging through my cupboards were you, well though it pains me to do this I feel i have to, whilst i was stripping the bed you slept in, what did find, i will tell you.

TIGER STRIPES!

Thank christ i now have a machine that will get rid of those BIOLOGICAL STAINS with ease ;-)

Clearly a girl can have no secrets here .....

It was so good to see every one again, even if the circumstances were sad - still Gary has an Electron 1100 as a daily driver so some good came of it.

And all of that great collection has been saved :)

We owe Gary a debt of gratitude for all the wonderful machines that he has managed to rescue for our collections over the years, not just his own collection here but many more rare machines which would only otherwise be recorded in brochures, Which reports etc.

Unfortunatly I could not stay to see the spread on the dining table, that came later, as I needed to get my hire van back by 8.00am on Sunday morning, and clearly I missed a lot of good fun and banter.

However, like most meets that I have been to it was well lubricated from the tea pot as the picture below shows.

Counter clockwise from the right:
Mike (ChesterMike), Gary (Electron1100 - unfortunatly partly obscured), Paul (MatchboxPaul). Mathew (Keymatic3203), and some fat (looking!!!) old f@@ker sitting at the end - oh, that would be me.

Finally it is in

Thanks again for your effort and hard work when you came down, it is a pity you couldnt stop for dinner, maybe it was just as well as it didnt get on the table till about 18.30......poor lambs were passing out due to inadequate nibbles being provided and Mike was threatening to vomit up his black Russians actually ;-)

Well more or less a week to the day the tumble dryer has gone from the living room up into the spare room, to keep the lads (guinea pigs) company whilst i dry there beds in it.

Thanks to Paul And Mike who despite there bloated stomachs getting in the way managed to clean the remains of the sellotape off one side and the front that had been put there to hold the packing in place whilst this dryer was shipped down from Scotland a few years ago, i must confess i only bothered to clean off the bits that could be seen on the front a touch of the "nets at the windows but no sheets on the beds" :-).
So when it got put upstairs Mal (other half) cleaned the right hand side for me.

The washer has been performing faultessly since its installation, i can honestly say there is not a single thing i miss about the Aqualitat, like all old designed machines they get and do the job quickly and affectively i love it.

So today in true Cornish weather tradition it pissed down this afternoon, no problem broght it all in from the line, span it all out in the electron then into the dryer for its first dry, 70 minutes (-10 for cool down) on low heat (thanks Mat) it was all dry

Again last weekend was brilliant and thanks to all who contributed and made it so great

For a text book 720rpm spin.

As I'm sure your aware Gary has posted several videos of this and many of his other machines on yourtube.

So thanks again gary, I still have a huge smile on my face thinking about this machine, be warned it will be accompaning me on next years wash parties.

Performance round-up

Throughot the whole wash the machine behaved perfectly with no tell tale leaks on the floor. It kind of belied its age in the the port-hole diameter is quite small, even by the standards of the day and most of the programmes seemed to be 60C or higher - I think apart from wollens, non fast coloureds was the only 40C programme available. The was was noticeably damper than out of my Miele but they were also less creased as well :)

I am so pleased to have an oppertunity to use this machine. Now I have to work out how I can use all my vintage machines in rotation to help keep the hoses, seals and mechanical parts in good order. Any ideas how often a machine should be used? I now have seven of them plus my Miele daily driver?

How Many Times

Hello Al

i am glad you have had an oppurtunity to use one of the Keymatics, these are too me such special machines in their own right. i think there are a few more 40o programs on the 3062, delicates, pre-wash and possibly synthetic blankets.

I dont know if you are aware but the 3203 adds a pre-wash to every wash (like it or not) some are heated and some are not, i think it is more an exorcise in making sure the clothes are wet as this machine does not have a "top up" function, if the water level drops to low it will cycle to the "high fill" section of the wash

Mat
Same to you aswell, finding the time and isolation to enjoy your machines is hard at times :-)

the thought of at least two keymatics being used on saturday in the Uk is a cheering thought

USE
When i was weller i would normally go to the garage once or twice a week, and try and use a different machine or machines each time, so Al just rotate them as best you can, and if your not using machines just spin the drum by hand so you dont get kinks in the drive belts, also if it going to freeze for a few days empty the sumps.

As you know at some point i fitted plumbing arrangements and drainage pipes in the garage because it was the only way to have at least 8 machines connected up, so maybe a re-design of your storage space Al ;-)

thanks for the pictures of both machines they look great and i know you will enjoy them

Gary

I’m so glad that the weekend went well and every one enjoyed it.
Rest assured all the machines are in safe hands.

Hi Gary

what with the dark evenings and being away at weekends PLUS a bloody bed being in the way, I am somewhat restricted with the machines that travelled to Derby.

This evening is the first opportunity I have had to even look at the Logic set, but here they are.

The A3794 Computer Logic 1300...
