I found another Speed Queen today on my hunting rounds bringing us to a total of five for the year. It seems they're still in bloom despite all the signs of autumn here! This one had a bad fluid drive and clutch lining which I replaced this evening so now the spin picks up speed faster than you can say "Speed Queen Multi-Cycle Automatic Washer"! The agitator cap was missing and the bolt broken off in the shaft so I will replace the shaft tomorrow and then can move on to the minor cosmetic issues. I told Jon (jetcone) the next one I found was his - so congratulations Jon, here's your new baby!!

I love this panel design - so sixties!

oh, I just love it!

Greg, what a nice find! Speed Queen had such variations in the set up of their control panels which made them so interesting. Sounds like the fluid drive problem is solved. Jon's going to love this one. Is that agitator black bakelite or aluminum? This looks to me like a 1970, the last year of the solenoid version.
This certainly is the year of the Speed Queen!

Greg you are a Queen Magnet!

Greg,
That is such a cool looking machine! It looks so sixties to me.
I just can't get over all of the Speed Queens that you have found!
Thanks for the pictures!

Hi! That looks newer than the one I have. (Mine has no "Durable Press cycle"). The console does have that "Jetson" looking stuff on it like mine. Do the little squiggles go along the top too? Hope you have fun with it! Best wishes -Steve

Great Find!!

Another great find there Greg!! Speed Queen must have been very popular in the Omaha area. I know that Jon will love this one. I really loved the GE dishwasher that you found as well. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us.
