All I had to do was read the above post's "FIFTEEN CYCLE" and I knew this thread had to be about a Snorge of some kind. Then I clicked on the link. BINGO!
I love the listing's verbiage about the machines having "numerous repairs" over the years to keep them running. Just with a little old lady using them for her dainties. Enough said.

The giveaway is the sculpted lid and the lack of the thick top panel that seemed to hallmark the Norges. I pity whomever had to do the "numerous repairs." They suck to work on, beyond replacing the belt. And even then, that still sucks.
I wonder what messed up that demonstrated some issues on its "numerous micro settings"? We had a Westy top-loader that developed pissiness on spin, and we eventually chalked it up to nuttiness in the timer. We used the repair/rebuild kit (pictured below) to resolve the issue.

Yes, I can understand your Wards-angst. The control panels were so pretty, but it's like a beautiful car that lets you down.
My cousin drove a '68 Buick Electra 225 in high school and college. I asked her how she remembered that car, and she made a funny expression. I then asked if it was reliable, and she bit her lip.
"Well, I could RELY on it not to start when I desperately needed it."
Enough said.

Couldn't the appliance dolly shown be used to "escort" the offending machine to the---SSI's THE CRUSHER!!!Their metal item baling press.They use it for cars,too!It is a star on their website along with their shredders.They also show a Maytag Neptune TL machine get eaten by one of their shredders.

At least let them have some dignity, they've made it this far. The panels are kind of pretty, reminiscent of the era (woodgrain) and from a distance the round timer graphics have shades of Speed Queen characteristics.
