It's been almost a year that we've had our Affinity pair and I just discovered that on the "Normal" cycle setting when warm water is selected, the water is cold. It works fine for hot, of course it works for cold, but on warm/cold or warm/warm settings there is no warm water going into the tub. This is not because the water hasn't become hot enough before filling. I usually run the hot water at the laundry sink before starting the machine when I intend to use either hot or warm water.

Is this an issue with the circuit board? I get warm water on other cycles, but not on "Normal." Have any other Affinity owners noticed this or is it just my machine?

Ralph....

call for service, if under warranty, I had the same issue, they had to change out the inlet valves, all better now.....what I don't understand is they leave off one wire on the side which I believe is is to monitor the auto-temp control, there is still a slot they plug it into, but it's a blank, but just the same, it works the way it's supposed to now, I'm happy!

also make sure yours is not on the recall for the pump issues, if it is have them replace it!

I guess I'm not following the logic behind why the machine would fill with warm water (I am reaching into the dispenser and feeling this for myself) on any other regular cycle besides "Normal" but would fill with cold water and then heat it somehow when set for "Normal." I thought the on-board heater only worked on the "Deep Clean" cycle anyway.

The pump on this machine has taken to operating with a loud vibrating buzz. It seems to function OK but as long as it's under warranty it won't cost me anything to have both of these complaints checked out by service tech.

And another thing...

I've been satisfied overall with the Affinity set for the last 3 years (with 5 yr. extended warranty) but have noticed the washer door hinges sag down and it has to be lifted, maybe 1/2 inch up to close and engage lock. The lock once activated has a discernable buzzing which comes and goes as you press on the door. The pump is not as quiet as I remember when new, it's developed a slight rattling after all water has drained. I just don't know if these things are worth the trouble of a service call... I believe like anything else when they fix one thing something else happens after they leave, or they label you a complainer who's never satisfied.

Mike, the door lock buzzed on our machine the first day we had it, but it later quieted down. Ours is only a year old so the sagging door isn't too bad, but it is sagging. Sounds like I have a fairly typical machine, but is that a good thing or a bad thing? LOL.
