Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Did I read that right?!?!?

"Remarkably do to the rise in restoring of vintage appliances replacement parts are available. "

Did I miss a big news flash about KitchenAid restarting making parts for these again? If that's the case, I think that Steve's been holding out on us... LOL!

I am a little perplexed by the white KA next to it. Is this a business, a collector, or just a home of such wealth that it had two KA dws? Maybe they kept kosher and the stainless steel machine was for meat dishes and the white one was for, what else, dairy and they had different front finishes so that they could not be mistaken for each other and allow somebody to accidentally slip the meat into the wrong place.

"Could use a new door gasket" probably means that as soon as the pump is energized, the area around the front of the machine resembles a car wash.

What is with the "ceramic" interior?

This IS one of Mike's pictures/machines.

There are videos on YouTube from past wash-in's at his place starring these machines - I think this might be a screen-shot stolen from one of those videos, since I've watched it before...

GOSH, I didn't even realize this discussion had occurred. Just proves how lax I have become in reading AW threads.

OK, let me add to what Ralph and "washer111" (sorry I don't know your name) have discovered and commented on.

I just came across this Craigslist posting on May 10th. I immediately recognized the primary photo as having been taken in my own basement. So I decided since the seller had included a phone number in his/her ad, I would inquire about the dishwasher. What follows is the exact quoted conversation:

Me: Sat, May 10, 11:41AM "Hello. I'm writing to you about your dishwasher for sale on Craigslist."

Seller: "What would you like to know"

Me: "The primary photograph that you are using to feature "your" Stainless KitchenAid Dishwasher was taken in "my" basement, in "my" home in West Peoria Illinois. My white KitchenAid KD11 model is on the left and my wood grain front KD17 model is in the right."

Me: (I sent a similar photo of those same three dishwashers on the upper shelf of my dishwasher wall.)

Seller: (He sent a closeup photograph of the front of his Stainless KD12 of the control handle.) with the following text: "I was being lazy it was the closest one to mine but yours is no where near as good as condition as mine so you want to buy it"

Seller: (Then he sent another photograph of the racks, with his left hand in the foreground of that photo with raised middle finger and other fingers folded down.)

Seller: (Then he sent yet another photograph of the inside of some range oven.) with the following text: "I have a pair of these to you think you got a 1954 tapped set as nice . There for sale too"

Me: "I think you would have better luck selling your dishwasher if you would use high quality photos of your actual machine. Good luck."

end of conversation.

Mike

And even after being busted the Ad is still out there..

I wonder if he really has one or if this is some kind of scam?  If he does have one I wonder what kind of condition it is in if he doesn't seem willing to post photos of the entire machine.
