Lately I have been seeing something rather disturbing on Ebay. It seems that some sellers have taken to parting out vintage electronics. For example. They'll have one auction for say a radio. Then they have another auction for the users manual and then maybe a third auction for the power cord. I have even seen a tube amp sold as one auction and the tubes that go in it sold in another auction.

Don't these idiots realize that they are not maximizing their profits? That a complete and whole item for sale brings in more bucks than the parts do? Sheesh!

You can certinly what? Eat Chicken? Drive the Mighty Geo? Use a Bidet? Wear a Dress to Wal-Mart? Hmmmmmmm....Hheheheheh

On the vacuum side....

People who list the cleaner and tools in seperate auctions grr!!!!!!!!!- especially when they end at the same time.

I'm into vintage garden tractors, and they do the same thing there. They'll tear apart a running engine, to try and sell a used piston. Or part out a rare tractor, instead of at least trying to sell it whole.

One way to look at it, is that by parting it out, it makes the remaining ones more valuable. Still don't like it, though.....

I think that there must be a "Ebay for Dummies" or some other kind book or training material out there that may be telling people that this is how you can maximize your profits. Or could it be a case of monkey see monkey do?
