Nice finds - "Shiny-Brite" are my favorite vintage ornaments. Looks like you found one of the last of the Corning Electromatic coffee pots. Were these the ones that had the trouble with the glue and fell apart? There was a Hoover iron at the thrift store on Tuesday but I left it behind - very similar to yours, is that branded Hoover too?

I have the same Mary Proctor Percolator, and I just love Vel Dishwashing liquid. Thankfully, it is still available here in Florida.

I'm really intrigued by that commercial...probably from 1973 or so and really the last gasp for that type of ad/spokesperson/style. The point of Vel was in the 40s/50s that it was an unbuilt powder detergent---there's another ad on Youtube from the early 50s contrasting a a wet handful to Vel with a wet handful of other (harsher) detergent, The built detergent was hot in the hand as the builders dissolved...Vel didn't feel that way. They continued with that positioning during the transfer to liquid...back in those days there were clear liquids (Joy, Palmolive, Ajax, and later Dawn), white liquids (Ivory, Dove), pink liquids (Vel, Lux and typical cheap house brands).
