Picked it up this afternoon. A702 / 216858QT Owner said it wouldn't agitate. We will see.
Another Maytag enters the stable.

That's an OLDIE BUT GOODIE Maytag match you have there! I'm not familiar with the older Maytags. What year would these be from, I'm guessing they are early 60's? I am more familiar with the later Center-dial Maytag models from the late 60's-70's, but far from being an expert!

I think the serial number on the washer shows Sept. 1960, if I'm deciphering it correctly.
702's were a 2 year only production run, 1964-1965. It's the #1 pre 1966 washer I'd recommend. Other than being TOL and with lots of flexibility, it has the beefier suspension design and at 45 seconds, has the longest spray rinse Maytag offered until 1966.
Keeping my fingers crossed the agitation issue isn't a sized upper shaft. Porcelain tub wear looks like low use or they were smarter than the average bear when it came to properly loading the washer.
The dryer look like a '60/'61 641C. It's basically a D700 with a different front panel. As far as matching, close enough for government work
